Let's Fight Food Waste Together!

Food waste accounts for about 12% of the total waste generated in Singapore.

Every year, the average Singaporean household is wasting the equivalent of 52 plates of Nasi Lemak! 😱😱

Food waste starts before it’s on your plate!

Singapore households contributed more than 50% of the food waste generated. More than half of the food waste could have been prevented if people were more mindful of how much food they bought, ordered, or cooked.

The top three reasons Singaporeans threw out their food:

  • 1 out of 3 Singaporeans throw out their food because it had expired
  • 1 out of 3 Singaporeans throw away at least 10% of uncooked and unconsumed food items per week.
  • 80% of Singaporeans do not fully understand the difference between the labels such as “use by”, “best before” and “date of expiry

Our plan
