Why Sponsor ‘Siew Mai’

‘Siew Mai’ is one of the 18 therapy horses from EQUAL, whom we fatedly met at the stable.

Just like how our beloved Handmade Siew Mais have brought joy to so many of you, we thought it would be a great opportunity to collectively raise funds as one Pasar Family to bring smiles to the elderly and youths that EQUAL work with.

Let’s adopt ‘Siew Mai’ together! Donate directly via the button below!

About 'Siew Mai'

3.png

6-year-old ‘Siew Mai’ (also known as Sunny) is the youngest of the EQUAL herd and has been an integral part of EQUAL’s equine partners.

Known for her sweet and cheeky nature, she is also extremely smart and learns things quickly, and loves to sniff, pull on shoelaces, nibble on watches, and likes to tug on the EQUAL staff’s t-shirts!

1.png
Fun Fact: Siew mai is the biggest of our Minis, but she is the baby of our herd!
6.png
Favourite Food: Siew Mai loves grazing on grass, and carrots!
2.png
Pet Peeves? Siew Mai is a sensitive soul – she doesn’t really like sudden, alarming noises, or having too many people crowding around her. She prefers when people approach her gently and at her eye level, and would often welcome you with a sniff!
4.png
She is one of the other 5 miniature horses that were rehomed from the US because they are perfectly-sized to work with and support younger children, persons in wheelchairs and the elderly.

How Your Donation Helps
The funds raised will ensure ‘Siew Mai’ receives the necessary care for the coming months. Here’s how your donation helps:

What People Are Saying About The Programme

"A 6-session programme was planned for residents with behavioural issues, depression and dementia. From the beginning to the end of the six sessions, residents surprised the staff with many changes. Those with depression became more vocal. They were seen talking more and expressing their affection with the horses. Residents with anger issues were also calmer after the therapy sessions. Most surprising of all was the impact on two residents with dementia. They were able to recall their time spent with the horses and the names of their favourite horses."
Mr. Victor Seng
Executive Director of St Theresa's Home

"With the exposure to the unfamiliar, the programme has helped our students defy their initial fears by confronting what they felt unfamiliar with and uncertain of at the start. This has helped raised their confidence and also build greater self-awareness and awareness of others with empathy"

MS Priscilla Yong
Teacher at Maris Stella High
"My daugher has become much more responsible these days. She studies harder in school and takes responsibility for the work that is assigned to her. She also has become wiser in her use of time. She even puts in the time and effort to bond with, and be more helpful towards the family members."
Mr Rizduan
Parent of child
