Making its debut in our refreshed Handmade Dim Sum range, our Truffle Shiitake Mushroom Bao is a vegetarian creation inspired by the earthy flavours and unmistakable look of a shiitake mushroom.

Beneath the Bao skin is a savoury filling made with Japanese Shiitake Mushrooms and aromatic Truffle Oil, bringing together deep mushroom flavours with that distinctive truffle fragrance in every bite.

And that mushroom-like exterior isn’t just for show. Each Bao is designed so that as the dough expands, the coating naturally cracks and forms those wavy brown and black lines that give shiitake mushrooms their distinctive appearance. No two come out looking exactly the same!

Earthy, fragrant and playful to look at, it’s also a meat-free option for anyone looking to add something a little different to their dim sum spread.

Total Preparation & Cooking Time:
Defrost for 30 minutes | Steam for 10 minutes

Recommended Preparation Method - Steam

1) From frozen, break off the number of Truffle Shiitake Mushroom Baos you want to have.
2) Defrost the Baos for 30 minutes before cooking.
3) (Pasar Hack) Before steaming, sprinkle the Baos with a little water to moisten them.
4) Upon boiling of water, steam the defrosted Baos for 10 minutes. Heating time may vary depending on the appliance used.
5) Serve and eat!
