Our Handmade Signature Salted Egg Lava Custard Bao is one of the most indulgent additions to our new Dim Sum range, filled with a rich, creamy salted egg custard that turns beautifully molten once steamed.

And we wanted the filling to taste like the real thing, because it is. Instead of simply relying on salted egg powder, we use actual salted egg yolk and premium SCS butter, giving the custard a richer, rounder flavour and that flowing golden centre we were looking for.

Sweet, savoury, buttery and unapologetically decadent, this is the Bao to have to end your meal!

Best enjoyed warm for maximum lava action! But give it a moment before your first bite. That golden centre is meant to flow, and it comes out hot!

Total Preparation & Cooking Time: 
Defrost for 30 minutes | Steam for 10 minutes

Recommended Preparation Method - Steam

1) From frozen, break off the number of Salted Egg Lava Custard Baos you want to have.
2) Defrost the Baos for 30 minutes before cooking.
3) (Pasar Hack) Before steaming, sprinkle the Baos with a little water to moisten them.
4) Upon boiling of water, steam the defrosted Baos for 10 minutes. Heating time may vary depending on the appliance used.
5) Allow the Baos to cool slightly before serving as the lava custard filling may be hot. Serve and eat!

Enjoy your Salted Egg Lava Custard Baos piping hot on their own or pair them with other Quan Shui’s Dim Sum favourites for breakfast, snacks and tea time. Pair with a cup of hot Chinese tea for a satisfying sweet-and-savoury finish to your dim sum spread!

Keep frozen. Once opened, please reseal in a freezer-safe container for optimal storage. After thawing, please heat and consume immediately. See packaging for expiration date. They can be kept frozen for up to 1 year from production date.
